Hi my name is Thomas Olive (Tom) and I specialise in Production Design for commercials and Set Decoration for long format.
I grew up working in my Mums Interior Decorating store rolling out fabrics, matching wallpaper designs and choosing cloth for couches and curtains, so in a way my training and love of texture began at an early age.
I’ve been working in this industry for 20 years and am passionate and inspired by this medium. Working both in short form and long form has allowed me to merge the snappy succinct worlds of short form, with the cinematic storytelling scale and subtlety of long format.
I enjoy the challenges of each script, from an 1870 brothel in San Francisco China Town to a Modern American middle-class apartment, to a busy Tokyo night-market. Scale does not scare me neither does a two-walled set. I’m open to ideas and enjoy collaborating.
I also work with a stunning team of really talented Art folk to help make the dream, the story come true. I hope to hear from you.
